Fairytales with a Twist

Posted on: 27-02-2019

Reading fairy tales increases learners’ imagination and creativity. In this sense, Grade 4 learners were asked to think of a fairytale character they like to accompany another character of their own imagination in a story of their creation. Learners came up with beautiful ideas in this unit project of Module Two “Family Bonds”. The learners’ stories gave us a chance to meet new characters such as the little brother of Jack who was captured by the giant in “Jack and the Beanstalk”, and Little Red Riding Hood introduced her adventurous sister Little Blue Riding Hood, and we also enjoyed the shadow of Pinocchio who replaced Jiminy Cricket, the conscience of Pinocchio.
Through many interesting characters and in their own creative way, the excited learners reflected their dreams, passion, fears, values, and many other emotions in a story of fifteen sentences which they wrote and presented in class.
