Ice cream cones!
Throughout the unit, learners explored numbers in different forms and solved problems on comparing and ordering numbers through hundred thousands. In pairs, learners cut ice cream cones and matched each number on the biscuit to its corresponding base ten representation. They worked cooperatively together, waited for each one’s own turn, and were patient to complete their matching ice cream cones. This activity emphasized the learners’ understanding of place value as well as the importance of listening and organization skills, and sharing roles to finish and enjoy their task.
